While Midwest Made might be a new name in the game, they’re backed by years of experience from owner, CEO, and recording artist Steven Cooper, who wants to do things differently. At the core of the brand’s musical release strategy, and what sets them apart from traditional labels, is their focus on showcasing a variety of artists by utilizing a project-by-project approach instead of signing artists for an extended period of time or set number of songs or albums, as demonstrated in the timeline above. This offers freedom to the artists, supports creativity and collaboration in the local musical community, and speaks to the mission of the brand - to give exposure to the rap, hip-hop, and R&B artists throughout the central states of the country and to create a regional reputation in the industry to rival the coasts. The brand is confident that this approach will not only mesh with the way listeners currently search for and consume music but will appeal to top-tier talent. So stay tuned for more exciting information from the brand as new projects are developed and announced.
