While the coasts and southern region of the US have long gotten accolades for producing some of the most well-known Hip-Hop, Rap, and R&B musical acts, the central states are no stranger to artists with incredible talent in this arena. The Heartland has consistently been pumping out quality work in these genres for decades, but has often been overlooked and has yet to receive the attention it deserves by the masses.
Enter Midwest Made. This new music label and lifestyle brand was founded on the principle that the Midwest is a force to be reckoned with in the urban music industry and is due proper recognition. The Kansas City-based label aims to do things differently and is building the brand based on four core principles: Values, Respect, Loyalty, and Hustle. Recording artist and label CEO Steven Cooper has plenty of experience with the ins and outs of the industry and knows the importance of creating a company culture based on these principles to encourage an environment of positivity, creativity, and support.
Midwest Made not only has a solid strategy for releasing and marketing music by urban artists in the region, they are also concentrating on merchandise as a way to create brand awareness and buzz surrounding the project as a whole. There will be a strong focus on retailing apparel and other items with designs that appeal to a wide array of consumers. Through these retail sales, label-supported events, and a solid pipeline of soon-to-be successful musical releases, Midwest Made is here to leave its mark on the urban music scene throughout the Heartland and beyond.
